How To: Set up a Subscription with an Opt-in Pilot Period

Edited

This guide explains how to set up pricing phases, starting with a pilot or opt-in period (Phase 1) and followed by the standard pricing phase (Phase 2) that applies if the customer opts in. It also outlines the workflow for both scenarios, whether the customer chooses to opt in or not.

1. Click "+ Create Contract" > "Add Product Pricing"

2. Select Pricing for your Opt-In Period (First Phase)

3. Click "+ Add Phase" to add your Second Phase

4. Click "Add Product Pricing" > Select the Product Pricing for your Second Phase

5. Select the Time of your Pilot Period:

Breakdown of our phases:

  • Subscription begins: October 31, 2025.

  • Pilot period: $10,000/month for 1 month.

  • Post-pilot: Starting November 31, 2025, the subscription transitions to $16,000/month for a 1-year term.

Notes:

  • Phase 2 represents the full contract term (1 year).

  • For simplicity, set your Pilot Period to use the same billing frequency as your recurring pricing (e.g., a one-month pilot with monthly pricing).

  • Once the contract is finalized, sent and signed, a subscription is created.

6. Customer Opts In

  • Leave subscription as is; it will change pricing automatically when the second phase kicks in on November 31, 2025.

 7. Customer Opts Out

  • Click "Cancel Change" > Cancel

 8. Click "Actions" > "Cancel Subscription"

9. Click "Custom Date"

10. Fill in the Cancellation Information

  • Custom Date

  • Cancellation Date (November 30th, 2025 - End of the Pilot Period)

  • Refund any amounts (If applicable)

  • Cancel Reason (Optional)

11. Click "Cancel"

Your subscription will be set to cancel at the End of the Pilot Period.
