Contract Statuses & Workflow
Maple can enable seamless enterprise sales workflows in addition to providing several robust capabilities for self-serve billing. Contracts are a big part of the B2B sales process, and typically, the software used to create the contract is disconnected from your billing system and out of sync with standard plans, packaging and pricing. This leads to mistakes in feature entitlement and delays in customer onboarding.
Maple’s Contract Flow
Maple’s contract flow is straightforward while giving you the flexibility required to serve different sales processes. The stages in the contract flow are
Draft
Create your draft by going to “Contracts” from the left menu and clicking on ”+ Create Contract”
Selecting the required Customer and Signatory for this contract
Enter the Contract details such as
Contract Title
The required contract template (you have as many templates as you want!)
The contract expiration date
Choice of collecting payment information
Enter the Plan details such as
Start Date
Contract Term
Product Pricing
Waiting for Approval (Optional)
Maple allows you to add rules to contracts where internal approval is required before a contract can be sent out. e.g.: Internal approval might be needed if the discount offered is greater than 15%.
How To: Set up a Sales Contract Approval
Pending Signatures
Once a contract is finalized, it can be sent to the intended audience by either
Sending the contract in an email directly from Maple, or
Sending a link to the contract an email or message, or
Downloading and sending as a PDF
Note: The first 2 options are the recommended approach as they support the integrated signature and payment flows.
Pending Payment (Optional)
If Payment Collection is required for the contract, the customer’s payment card information is collected once the contract has been signed.
Awaiting Manual Confirmation (Optional)
In certain situations, an additional step must be completed after the signing stage before the contract is considered fully executed. An example of this would be an implementation stage where you and your customer work together to get your product or service fully operational in their environment.
Executed
At this stage, the contract is considered fully executed, and the associated subscription will be created for the customer.
